Joseph was a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather whose presence brought warmth and love to those fortunate enough to know him. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Natividad, with whom he shared 56 treasured years. He leaves behind his loving children, Vivian (Robert) and Gerald (Elizabeth), and his adored grandchildren, Matthew, Jonathan, Patrick, Danielle (Javier), and Ashley, who will forever carry his memory and the love he gave them in their hearts.
Joseph lived a full and memorable life, filled with the things he loved most. A lifelong New York Yankees fan, he was especially proud of having had the opportunity to try out for the New York Giants baseball team during the years they played in New York. It was a special chapter in a life that reflected his love of baseball and his appreciation for the game.
When he wasn’t following baseball or playing handball, Joseph could often be found doing what he enjoyed most—fishing, spending quiet and peaceful hours outdoors, or enjoying a friendly game of Rummikub in his spare time. These simple pleasures, along with his humor, stories, and companionship, are among the many memories his family and friends will treasure.
Joseph will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Though his passing leaves an emptiness in the hearts of those who loved him, his life, his stories, and the memories he created with his family will remain a lasting source of comfort.
A visitation for Joseph will be held at Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Home in Hicksville, NY, on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. A private cremation will follow.
