The world lost a beloved mother and wife, Josephine Joyce, on August 8, 2021, after a 2 year battle with cancer. Josephine passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband, Dermot, children; Robert (Dana), Steven, Patrick and granddaughter, Julia. Josephine was born in Astoria, NY on December 21, 1954 to her loving parents, Angelo and Catherine.
Josephine was an extremely talented artist and worked as an elementary school art teacher where she was known for her work building the sets for all of the school plays. Her colleagues and students knew her as a kind soul with a warm smile and a big heart.
Friends and family are invited to say a final goodbye to Josephine at Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Home in Hicksville, NY on August 12th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be held at St. Ignatius Loyola in Hicksville at 10 am on August, 13th.
