

Karen Warner, a beloved resident of Hicksville, New York, passed away on September 22, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on December 1, 1945, in Brooklyn, New York, to Edward and Wanda Lekowski, Karen was cherished for her kind-hearted and compassionate nature.
Karen was a devoted and hard-working individual who dedicated over 40 years of her life to teaching mathematics at Hicksville High School, retiring from the Hicksville School District. Her humorous and generous spirit left a lasting impact on her students and colleagues alike.
Married to the late Basil, Karen was a faithful and gentle partner. She leaves behind her beloved cousins, Janet Tures and Paul Mazurek, who will miss her dearly.
Karen was passionate about her personal interests, which included all forms of stitchery, gardening, cooking, and reading. Her hobbies reflected her gentle and creative spirit.
An extremely active member of St. Ignatius Loyola Parish in Hicksville, Karen was a devoted participant in the Catholic Daughters and Mercy League, attending mass regularly and contributing to her community with her compassionate and generous heart.
Visitation will be held at Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Homes, located at 125 W Old Country Road, Hicksville, NY 11801, on September 25, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and again from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ignatius Loyola Parish, 129 S Broadway, Hicksville, NY 11801, on September 26, 2025, 10:00 am. Interment will follow at the Cemetery of the Holy Rood, 111 Old Country Rd, Westbury, NY 11590.
