Lieselotte Smith

York passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 10, 2024, in

Port St. Lucie, Florida.

She was married to the true love of her life, Vincent F. Smith

for 57 years, until his death in 2011. She is survived by her

daughter, Sieglinde; sons: Harry (Ilse);Vincent

(Anastasia);Robert (Alexandra) and Jimmy (Alda); grandchildren

Carolin (Paul) Schmidt, Vincent (Hillary) Smith, Jr., Anastasia

(Brian) Martone, Justin Smith, Kristi (Craig) Zegel, David Smith,

James (Jennifer) Smith, Abigail Smith and 11 greatgrandchildren with another soon to arrive.

Lotte was first and foremost a homemaker and children were

the source of her greatest joy. As the children grew up and

went on their own way, she worked in Queens at a delicatessen

owned by family friends. In later years, her husband suffered

severe damage from an accident. She graciously dedicated

herself to attend to all of his personal care. Her gentle and quiet spirit,

compassion, and generosity, will be remembered by all those

who knew her

“Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also,

and he praiseth her.” Proverbs 31:28

The family will receive friends at Vernon C. Wagner Funeral

Home 125 W.Old Country Road in Hicksville on Wednesday,

March 20, 2024, from 2:00-4 PM and 6:00 - 8 PM. A service will be

held at the funeral home on Thursday March 21, 2024 starting at 10:30AM.

Interment at Calverton National Cemetery in Wading River New York

will follow the service.
