Louis Geraci was born August 18, 1927, one of 13 children to Angelo and Isabella Geraci who migrated to New York from Sicily, Italy. He was raised during the depression years in the Bronx, New York.
As a young man, Louis wanted to explore his individuality by finding his earthly place. He joined the Army and spent two years, mostly in the border regions of France and Germany during the post WWII era. He was driven to go to Germany to find his lost brother, Alfonso, who tragically died at the end of WWII. Once abroad, he realized that he had athletic talent and signed up to play football for the Army team. He soon also discovered that he had been gifted with a natural and beautiful—Frank Sinatra like voice --and ventured into singing lessons.
Upon returning to America--- like many veterens of this time--- he moved forward to marry, have a family in which he had 2 children, and endeavored to make a living.
His vocational path took him to floor waxing business, professional chauffer, residential door man, employee at Bethpage Golf Course, and professional care taker.
He is survived by his son, Alan Louis Geraci and daughter, Tara Jade Geraci, grandchildren Jonathan, Graham, Lauren and Ryan along with his sisters, Ella Fucci and Julie Williams, and family.
Louis will be remembered as a people lover and he was loved by all— children especially were attracted to his wamth and contagious laughter. His charm and good nature always lit up the room. His dashing good lucks and beautiful blue eyes was noticed by all who encountered him. He gifted friends and family with his melodic, heartfelt songs at family gatherings. His grand spirit will be missed by all.
