Marianno S. Sarro

Marianno (Mud) was born in Oyster Bay, NY, on May 24, 1925, born to Louis and Crucifisa Sarro. He had three brothers and three sisters who predeceased him. He graduated from Oyster Bay High School and was inducted into the Navy where he proudly served and fought in World War II. Mud met and married Catherine (Kate) Yannucci (deceased) who also resided in Oyster Bay. They moved to Bethpage, NY, and in 1990, Mud retired after working as a dispatcher for the County of Nassau. Mud and Kate were married 70 years and they are survived by four loving sons, Louis (Barbara), Ronald (Rosemarie), Gary, and James (Joyce); six adoring grandchildren Michelle (Keith), Christine (Chris), Kristyn (Nico), Kimberly (Michael), James and Jesse; and, nine great grandchildren, Kevin, Ryan, Vanessa, Madison, Liam, Lorenzo, Rocco, Giovanni, and Sebastian.

Visitation will be held at Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Homes, 125 W Old Country Road, Hicksville, NY 11801, on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm & 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

A Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 500 S Oyster Bay Rd, Hicksville, NY 11801 on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 9:15 am followed by a Committal Service at Cemetery of the Holy Rood, 111 Old Country Rd, Westbury, NY 11590.Celebration of life to follow.
