

Michael J. Pulitano, a beloved husband, stepfather, veteran, godfather, and friend, passed away on April 27, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on April 24, 1949, in Brooklyn, New York, Michael lived a life marked by dedication, passion, and generosity. He was a longtime resident of Hicksville, New York.
Michael attended Commack High School before he joined the United States Army. From 1967 to 1973, he proudly served as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War. His courage and sacrifice were honored with the Purple Heart.
After returning home, Michael worked as a printer at Histacount and later spent many years with Belli Contracting until his retirement.
In 1989, Michael married the love of his life, Maria Schettino, and became a devoted stepfather to Kerri Zezulinski. He embraced his role with deep love and unwavering support.
Michael was the middle child of three and shared a close bond with his two adoring sisters—Antonia, the eldest, and Cindy, the youngest.
He had a lifelong passion for science fiction and pursued countless hobbies with boundless enthusiasm—from skiing in his youth to golf, jogging, bicycling, and gaming. Whenever Michael found a hobby, he dove in wholeheartedly. His love for animals was evident to all who knew him; no pet was ever without a treat in his presence.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Maria, his stepdaughter Kerri, and his many nieces, nephews, godchildren, and brothers- and sisters-in-law. Michael’s kindness was legendary; he never passed a person in need without offering help, often slipping them a dollar or two, no questions asked.
Michael’s legacy is one of generosity, commitment, and quiet strength. He touched many lives with his compassion and will be remembered always with love and admiration.
