My Grandfather was quite literally one of the best men out there. He would do anything for the people he loved. He was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather. The memories we have had with him are everlasting. He never failed to make me laugh. Whenever I went to visit him in Florida he would love to tell people that we were going to his "granddaughters favorite place" AKA Golden Corral. We both shared a deep love for fried chicken. Anytime I would come over and have ripped jeans on he would either ask me if I "bought them like that" or "got attacked" on my way over. There is one video that comes to mind when thinking about my grandfather. One year it snowed and he built a hill out of the snow in his backyard for Sydney and I. I would sled down it and cry until he would pull me back up to do it all over again, this happened at least 10 times. He just always knew what he was doing. To put it into perspective of how much we loved our grandfather, whenever we wanted our old dog Chelsea to come inside we would say "Grandpas here" and she would zoom inside. He loved her the same way and even built something in his backyard for when she would stay over to let her out. He was able to build anything, he could build sheds, make any sort of holiday decoration, lay tile, brick, he could do anything he set his mind too. His drive, pride, and perseverance is something that I hope to have one day. Although I do not see standing on a roof like he used to - I hope that one day I can be just like you Grandpa. I promise to take care of Grandma and Mom but now it is your time to be at peace and rest. I will love you forever Grandpa. 

I’m very sad to say that my grandpa, Marco Regateiro, passed away this past Friday. My grandpa was a true mans man. A hard worker who adored his wife and loved his family. He served our country in the Korean War and had great devotion towards our country.  He raised my dad and gave him great values that made my father the best dad anyone could have.  The values that my grandfather had are very important to me and I plan to follow in his footsteps. Grandpa, thank you for all you have done and given to my family. I wish you eternal peace in Heaven. I will always love you.

Dear Grandpa....we are going to miss you. You were always so happy to see us.  You were a great grandpa. You took such good care of grandma. You gave us the best dad. We loved going to the Korean War ceremony with you. We loved all the wood crafts you gave us and still put up the Easter Bunny and Turkey.  We hope you are happy in Heaven with all your relatives and friends. Thank you for being such a good grandpa.

My father in law was truly cut from a different cloth. He was one of a kind. Always smiling and happy to see you.  He knew the value of hard and honest work. He had deep morales and strong family values. He loved my mother in law so much and was an incredible example of what a loving and enduring marriage looks like.  His love for his children ran deep and he would do anything for them. He was an incredible grandpa who had over a dozen grandkids who adored him.  Through his exemplary and outstanding way he lived his life....through his example....his legacy continues to live on through his children and grandchildren.  My father in law was the type of man who enhanced every person he met, every situation he encountered.   He was simply the best.  I loved him and I am going to miss him....we are all going to miss him.   Thank you dad for everything! ❤️

I can't even begin to describe how incredible of a man my grandfather was and the incredible life he lived. A Korean War Veteran who loved his country, his family, his friends and his Ford Trucks. Every single person I know has a story on how Mike Regateiro has helped them out. Thats just the type of person he was. He would give you the shirt off his back, & if that wasn't possible he would figure out a way to build you one himself. An absolute master of all crafts. No one can forget the gorgeous, life-size Barbie House he built in the backyard for Emily and I. His drive, ambition and desire to provide is something I will strive to achieve for the rest of my life. To say he is the hardest working man I know doesn't even come close to actually describing my grandfathers work ethic. The life he created for his family is beyond anyones wildest dreams. I could write paragraphs upon paragraphs on all of the memories we have made. I will never forget the time we had together whether it was just sitting watching you work in your workshop, talking about history, our favorite thing to do together, Florida trips, Mexican train games, or even just sitting and watching Wheel of Fortune every night, they are the best memories of my life. (except the weekly "the office" cleaning days you know I hated that LOL) Your undying love for grandma is the greatest love I will ever experience in my life. These past few years have shown your your love and commitment to each other.  Everyone says he's a man of a different time but, I think he's a once in a lifetime kind of man. There was and never will be another Marco Regateiro.  I can't wait to toast with a Bologna sandwich this week in your honor. We will take care of your beloved Liz for you. Till we meet again, take care of Sabrina and Chels for me, they cant wait to see you. I love you so much <3

There’s only kind thoughts when you think of my uncle mike and aunt Liz, As a child I remember going to there house and it always smelling like coffee! There was always some sort of coffee cake or cookie to go with it. One time the stairs were by the front door then next thing you know uncle mike moved the stairs to middle of the house. The man was amazing with what he could do, no boundaries! He was a great brother to my mother as aunt Liz was a great sister in law., always calling on her to make sure she was ok . My mom cherished their relationship. He was an ageless man to me, I always thought he looked great( all that coffee) He will be sorely missed, now is your time to rest uncle mike until we meet again . Luv you💕

Mr. Regateiro was what many would refer to as a Man’s Man. But he was more than that. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandpa, family man, friend & worker. I’ve had the privilege of knowing  him for almost 3 decades. He was my brother’s father-in-law and one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Let’s not forget  that behind every great man is a great woman and anyone who has ever met Mrs. Regateiro would agree wholeheartedly with this. My brother, Kim, Sydney & Emily are very lucky to have them in their lives. Let’s just say they hit the the trifecta having Mr. Regateiro as their Dad, Father in Law, and Grandpa. Mr. & Mrs. Regateiro are 2 of the most unselfish, loving & caring people I have ever met. They have opened up their home to myself and family many times. When my Dad passed away a few years ago there they were offering their home for us to stay, yet once again. Like they did many times before. I would love to listen to Mr. Regateiro tell his stories as well as watch his mannerisms and one liner responses. Especially  to Mrs. Regateiro. Although technically I was not related to them. They both always made me feel like family and  welcomed me and my family in their home and gatherings. Mr. Regateiro you will be sorely missed. I only hope that one day I may be half the Grandpa you were to Sydney, Emily and the rest of your Grandkids to my own. My sincerest sympathy to Mrs Regateiro, Kim, John, Sydney, Emily & family. Rest In Peace Mr. Regateiro! 

Mike was one of the greatest neighbors an American family could ask for.

On March 19th my father in law, a man I always looked up too and admired passed away. In this world of social media I still remained a strong advocate of actions speak louder than words. My father in law was the epitome of this expression. I never in my life met a man that would drop everything in a second to lend a hand which included his expertise and knowledge to anyone in need. I used to joke and tell my friends that he was happier doing hard manual labor for free than relaxing and watching T.V. His worth ethic was unmatched. His desire to make people happy and their lives better was unparalleled. I have seen it with my own eyes and unfortunately experienced him run circles around people half his age, myself included. The only thing that surpassed his work ethic was his love and admiration for his family. I have to say the majority of people dread their in laws. I am the the complete opposite, I love and adore them. I know this is about my father in law but, I would be wrong not to mention my mother in law. The strength, courage and resolve she displayed the last few years being his sole caregiver will be embedded in my mind for the rest of my life. She sacrificed everything to make his life better and that is unconditional love. No matter how hard I try I don't think I can ever repay my in laws for all they did for me. However, I do promise I will always try to do my best to show my gratitude. If I can be half the man he was in his life then I consider myself a success.

Another link of the Regateiro chain has been broken and I am so sad for the loss of my Uncle Mike.  But I do believe, as faith has it, we again will be reunited sitting at a long table, on steps or even standing in the kitchen eating meatball parm heroes, Italian cookies, crumb cake or even helping with pencils in that basement we ALL looked forward to going to! Thank you Uncle Mike for being one of my favorite uncles and my dads best friend growing up.

 Until that time, rest Uncle Mike with your family and friends knowing you were loved, admired and will be terribly missed.
