Nancy Ramirez, 87, of Plainview, New York, sadly passed away on September 15, 2026. She leaves behind a lifetime of love, cherished memories, and a family who will forever hold her close in their hearts.
Nancy was the beloved wife of the late Eduardo Ramirez and the adored mother of the late Carlos Guerrero and Maria Pilar Mother in law to Carlos Castrillon and Angela Russi. She was a cherished grandmother to Sebastian, Santiago, Nicole, and Lindsey, and a loving great-grandmother to Pablo and Ray. She was also a devoted sister to Dora Munoz. Her family was one of the greatest sources of joy and pride in her life, and the love she gave them will continue through the generations.
Nancy was a woman of deep faith and was a proud and active congregant of Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she generously supported her church as well as those in need. She believed in giving from the heart and quietly helping others whenever she could. Nancy prayed everyday.
Before moving to New York, Nancy worked for more than 20 years for a pharmaceutical company in Cali, Colombia. She was a hardworking, independent, and capable woman who took pride in all that she accomplished. She faced life’s challenges with remarkable strength and determination, always carrying herself with grace and dignity.
Outside of work, Nancy found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She loved to cook and share good food, listen to music, and dance. She enjoyed watching her novelas and could spend hours immersed in the stories and characters she loved. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a special gift for storytelling, often bringing a smile or laugh to those around her.
Nancy was smart, down-to-earth, caring, and kindhearted. She took pride in her appearance and carried herself with confidence and grace. She had a generous spirit and a warmth that made people feel loved and welcomed. And while she was gentle and caring, Nancy was also strong and resilient. When life called upon her to be tough, she was. She met difficult moments with courage, perseverance, and an inner strength that was uniquely her own.
Those who knew Nancy will remember not only the things she did, but the way she made people feel. They will remember her laughter, her stories, her cooking, her faith, her strength, and the love she so generously gave to her family and those around her. Though her passing leaves a profound emptiness, her memory will remain a lasting blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Nancy’s life was a testament to the enduring power of family, faith, love, and resilience. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister, extended family, friends, and all who were touched by her kindness.
A Memorial Mass will be held for Nancy on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church in Hicksville, New York, with interment of her ashes immediately following at Plainlawn Cemetery, also in Hicksville.
May Nancy’s memory be eternal, and may the love she gave so freely continue to surround her family for generations to come. May she rest in eternal peace, and may those who loved her find comfort in knowing that the beautiful memories she created will never be lost.
