Nick was more than a friend—he was a brother, a confidant, and a force of nature who made every moment unforgettable.
Growing up together in Plainview, Nick and I were inseparable. From our childhood adventures to the days we finally got our driver’s licenses, we were partners in crime—sometimes literally—getting into mischief but always having each other’s backs. Nick’s loyalty was unwavering. If you were in a tough spot, he’d be the first to step up, ready to stand by your side. He never asked for anything in return, always willing to give the shirt off his back to help a friend.
Nick had a gift for bringing people together. His legendary 4th of July parties were the highlight of our year, each one somehow better than the last. Those gatherings were filled with laughter, stories, and his trademark sarcasm that could catch you off guard if you didn’t know him. But for those of us who did, that sharp wit was just part of Nick’s charm—his unique way of showing love and keeping us entertained.
What I’ll miss most is how Nick made every moment feel timeless. You could go a year without seeing him, but the second you were together, it was like no time had passed. We’d be laughing, reminiscing about the old days, and making new memories in an instant. His ability to connect, to make you feel seen and valued, was a gift that will stay with us all.
Nick, I’m going to miss you—your humor, your loyalty, your larger-than-life spirit. But I know this isn’t goodbye forever. We’ll meet again, and when we do, I’m sure you’ll have Something smart to say and a story to share. Until then, rest in peace, my friend. You’ll live on in our hearts and in the stories we tell.

Diana and Nick I am sorry sorry and I will always be there for you guys. I met Diana years ago when she worked at speedway n Nick would tell me all the time to quit there they were no good to me and I finally listened to him. Nick will be missed so much. Live your all

Nick wasn't just the guy next door. He was the one who shoveled more driveways than anyone could count, the one who created community and the one that blessed everyone he came in contact with.  For him community was about connection, not fences or property lines, it was about the people! Who could forget his legendary 4th of July fireworks that lit up the block literally and figuratively. He was an angel whose blessings will never be forgotten! Rest in Peace 🙏

Nick was the best neighbor you could ever ask for. He looked after all of us. When I was a kid, he caught my friend and I "dumpster diving" for baseball cards and gave us a bunch of free ones. As an adult, he would watch after my parents all the time, going out of his way to make sure they were okay. Even after he was hospitalized towards the end, when I called to see how he was doing, he asked if he could have someone shovel snow for my parents. An angel...they don't make them anymore like Nick ❤️🙏🏼 - Eric Altschuler
