It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Renato U. Ormita, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Renato peacefully passed away on September 14, 2025, surrounded by love and cherished memories. He fought a good fight with incredible strength and courage. He was a fighter, an inspiration, and a source of love to all who knew him. Though doctors gave him four years to live, his determination and will blessed us with four more precious years together.
Renato was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Rowena Ormita. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and warmth. As a father, Renato leaves behind a deep and lasting legacy in his children—Roxanne Jane (Bernardo Manto), Reniel Mark, and Renson Jake Ormita. His love and guidance will continue to shape their lives.
He was a proud and joyful grandfather to Rafaella Joyce, Raiden Mark, Riona Mauve, and Reinette Jane Ormita. Renato adored spending time with his grandchildren, and his face would light up in their presence. His affection for them was immeasurable, and the memories they shared will forever be treasured.
Renato was also dearly loved by his siblings—Ricardo, Remedios, Recy, Romy, and Rodil—as well as by his extended family, including his sister-in-law Leah Casas, brother-in-law Ferdinand Casas, his aunts, many nieces and nephews, and all his close friends, each of whom felt his unwavering love and support.
Renato’s passions were simple but deeply meaningful. He found joy in the outdoors, whether crabbing or fishing with his family, and his love for gardening brought beauty and peace to his home. He delighted in surprising his family with experimental dishes and desserts, especially his famous Biko and Kalamay. He was always happy to prepare packed lunches for his wife to bring to work and took great pride in keeping their home in order—cleaning, repairing, and fixing things with a smile on his face. A lover of basketball and billiards, Renato taught his two older sons how to play both games well.
One of Renato’s greatest joys was driving his wife to work and his children to school or their jobs. He was just one call away whenever his family needed help— especially a ride—anytime of the day, anywhere. He always found a way to help as much as he could. Even in the smallest moments, he showed his love through his actions, always there for those he cared about.
Though Renato was not a wealthy man, he was rich in kindness and generosity. He always found a way to help his family in the Philippines, offering support and care whenever it was needed. His selflessness was an inspiration to all who knew him.
Renato’s presence in our lives was a gift that will be deeply missed. His laughter, his hands that worked with such care, and the warmth of his heart will remain in our memories forever.
A celebration of Renato’s life will be held at a later date, and all who knew and loved him are invited to join in honoring his legacy.
Rest in peace, Renato. You will always be loved and never forgotten.
