Richard was the beloved husband of 25 years to Vilma Brandt, a devoted brother to Michael (Amy) Brandt and David (Bethany) Brandt, and a loving uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A proud 40-year resident of Levittown, New York, Richard dedicated 27 years of service as a supervisor with the Nassau County Department of Parks and Recreation. He took great pride in his work and was known for his dedication, kindness, and quiet strength. His life was one of commitment to his family, his community, and the people whose lives he touched along the way.
Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in the many memories Richard leaves behind and in the love he shared so generously. His legacy of devotion, hard work, and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation at Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Homes in Hicksville, New York, on Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Brigid's Catholic Church in Westbury, New York, at 11:00 a.m., with interment immediately following at Queen of Peace Cemetery in Westbury.
May Richard's memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him, and may he rest in eternal peace.
