The written and spoken word does not travel as fast as the spirit.  I was on the "hill" at Dorann, and felt a gush of warm air, and knew something happened to someone I knew.  I just didn't know who until now.

I grew'em, they hunted'em, and they shot some of them... as the posted photo shows.  My father and many other fathers, and many good folk hunted with Richie.  Now those who are gone, are hunting together again.  Maybe I'll take up hunting before my time comes, since I would like to see them all again on what would be undoubtedly better hunting grounds.  

Deepest respects to Richie's family.  A fire is burning and a candle has been lit on the "hill".

A very good man that has left way too soon. I just found out today and I regret I waited too long to find you again. Your the closest thing my son had to a grandfather and I wouldn't have him if it weren't for you.I will cherish all the times we spent together laughing and when you provided a listening ear. My prayers go out to his family and all of us that are heartbroken from losing you.

My Dad's best friend and the person I respected most that wasn't kin. Though it really felt like he was. He called me while I was in Belgium, a week after the Paris attacks, and got me to come home early because he was the only one who could. If I had stayed in Europe I would've returned to the United States two days after he passed. Timing is an interesting part of life, is it not? RIP Rich, think about you everyday.

The first day I bow hunted with Rich in Montana, I knew he was a "one-in-a-million" guy!  Rich was fun and he was just a nice guy.  Few of those around any more.  Italian is the best word to describe him.  What a great cook!  He had a serious Jinx on Elk, though!  I called in two bulls for him in New Mexico and he got so excited he shot too soon and m-m-m-missed!  He took the ribbing like a man!  I will miss him for the rest of my days..."So long, Pard!"

Great friend and hunting partner over the last 25 years.  Many adventures together - hunted elk, deer, black bear and big horn sheep.  Grizzly encounters, blizzards, livestock mishaps, altitude sickness, car wreck and many more too numerous to name.  A friendship bond that could not be severed.  RIP Brother :)
