Robert Saccente, age 72, of Syosset, New York, sadly passed away on Monday, October 26, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, loyalty, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Robert was the beloved husband of 35 years to Judy Saccente, a devoted and loving stepfather to Adam (Giulia), whom he loved as if Adam were his own son, and an adoring grandfather to Arielle and Adrian. His family was a tremendous source of love and pride in his life, and the bond he shared with them was truly special.
Robert proudly served with the New York City Department of Sanitation for 20 years, dedicating himself to his work with the same determination and commitment that he brought to every aspect of his life.
Those who knew Robert best would describe him as a man with the biggest heart, someone who would do anything for anyone. He was generous, dependable, and fiercely loyal, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His kindness and willingness to go above and beyond for the people he cared about were among the many qualities that made him so special. Some might say Robert was almost too smart and too loyal, at times to a fault, but these traits were simply a reflection of the depth of his character and the sincerity with which he lived his life.
Robert was a natural handyman who loved to fix, build, repair, and restore just about anything. Whether he was working on something around the house or bringing a treasured collectible back to life, he took great pride in his projects and had a special talent for seeing the potential in things others might overlook. Among his prized possessions was his beloved 1976 Corvette Stingray, a reflection of his appreciation for classic cars and his passion for restoring things to their former glory.
An avid motorcycle enthusiast, Robert also loved hitting the open road on his Harley-Davidson alongside the rest of his riding crew. Those rides were more than just a hobby; they were an opportunity to enjoy the freedom of the road, share unforgettable experiences, and create lasting memories with friends who shared his passion.
Beyond his many interests and talents, Robert had a wonderful sense of humor that made him unforgettable. He had a quick wit and an even quicker comeback, always ready to turn someone else's joke into a moment of laughter. He had a special way of keeping everyone entertained, bringing smiles to those around him, and making even ordinary moments memorable. His humor, warmth, and unmistakable personality brought joy to family and friends alike, and his laughter will be deeply missed.
Above all, Robert will be remembered for his enormous heart, unwavering loyalty, generous spirit, and the love he gave so freely to those fortunate enough to be part of his life. He was a man who showed his love through his actions, his willingness to help others, and the countless ways he made life better for the people around him. The memories he created, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave will remain treasured gifts to his family and friends forever.
Funeral services will be held graveside on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at 11:15 a.m. at Locust Valley Cemetery in Locust Valley, New York.
May Robert’s memory be eternal. May his love continue to surround his family and friends, and may the many wonderful memories he leaves behind bring comfort, strength, and peace to all who mourn his passing. Though he will be deeply missed, he will never be forgotten and will forever remain in our thoughts and hearts.
