Timothy C. O'Connell

Timothy O'Connell, loving husband of Karen O'Connell (Ventrelli), devoted father of Nicholas O’Connell (Jenn), cherished Pop Pop to Norah, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024. He will be deeply missed by his loving family, close friends, dog Scout, and all who knew him.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. Married for 30 years, Tim and Karen shared a bond built on deep affection and shared values. Tim was a proud and supportive father, always there for his son and his family. His granddaughter, Norah, held a special place in his heart, and he delighted in their playful moments together.

Beyond his immediate family, Tim is survived by his siblings: sister Mary-Jean Scott (John) and brother James O'Connell. He was also a beloved Uncle Timmy to many nieces and nephews. He has fond memories of his late brothers Daniel and Sean; Tim was also predeceased by his parents, James and Evelyn O'Connell (née Colwell). Although they have passed, their laughter and shared experiences remained dear to him.

Tim carried his values of hard work and kindness throughout his life. Beyond work, he was an adventurer at heart. Whether cheering on his beloved Islanders, Jets, and Yankees, casting a line for the perfect catch, carving down a snowy slope, exploring under the open sky while camping, or perfecting (trying to, at least) his swing on the golf course, Tim embraced life with enthusiasm and found joy in the simple moments.

The family will receive visitors at their home Saturday afternoon following the cremation.

A visitation for Timothy will be held Friday, February 16, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Homes, 125 Old Country Rd, Hicksville, New York 11801. A visitation will occur Friday, February 16, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, 125 Old Country Rd, Hicksville, New York 11801. A cremation will occur Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 41 Main St., Center Moriches, NY 11934.
