

A resident of this area all of her life, G-ma was born on March 16, 1935 in Guilford County to the late John and Una Farrington Odom. She attended Jewel Baptist Church and had worked as a sock boarder for many years. G-ma truly lived life to the fullest and was always doing her best to help others and bring a smile to their face. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and Cherokee to play the slots and bingo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Bennett; son Dickie Nunn and daughter, Toni Landreth; grandson, Christopher Dodson; and brother, Ray Odom.
Surviving are her daughters, Joyce Byers of Trinity and Connie Hilliard and her husband Keith of High Point; son, Danny Nunn and his wife Carol of Trinity; son-in-law, Steve Landreth of Greensboro; sister, Faye Travis of Ft. Worth, TX; five grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. Also surviving is her beloved Poodle, Lucy Lou.
A celebration of G-ma’s life will be held at 2 pm Friday, April 15th in the chapel of Davis Funeral Home, 976 Phillips Avenue, High Point with Rev. James Cain officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
