Allene McLeod Coggins

She was born on December 18, 1923 in Montgomery County, a daughter of the late Daniel H. (Kim) and Phoebe Shuping McLeod. After 38 years, she retired from High Point Regional Health System and was a member of Suggs Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Star. She was also a graduate of Jones Business College.

On July 12, 1941, she married Wade Vernon Coggins who preceded her in death on January 14, 1996. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by brother, David Doyle McLeod, Jr.; and sisters, Irene Hayworth and Doris Bulla.

Surviving are her daughter, Donna Grimsley of the home; grandson, Kenneth Grimsley and his wife Rhonda of High Point; two great grandsons, Jackson and Carson Grimsley; and one brother, Donald McLeod of Florida.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Saturday, April, 9th at Suggs Creek Primitive Baptist Church, 1971 Ether Road, Star, NC. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Friday, April 8th at Sechrest Funeral Service, 1301 E. Lexington Ave. in High Point.
