Mrs. Knox was born in Guilford County on April 5, 1930 to Earl Ross and Nell Sexton Hedrick. She was the youngest of seven children. Mrs. Knox was a retired teacher with the Guilford County School System having retired on July 1, 1996. She was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. On August 9, 1952 she married Edward Knox Jr. who preceded her in death in 2001.
Surviving are her daughter; Leigh Knox of Rock Hill, SC, sons, Edward Knox III “Trip” and wife Betsy of Wilmington, NC and Scott Knox and wife Laura of Florence, KY. There are seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in High Point with the Reverend David L. Umphlett officiating. There will be no visitation.
Interment will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery.
