

Billie Jean was born on May 13, 1958 in Logan, WV to the late Clarence and Helen Kimbler Ratliff. She was of the Pentecostal faith and especially enjoyed playing on her computer, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandson, traveling to Florida, and looking at the moon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Norman Vance.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas Smith of the home; children, Norman Lee Vance and his wife Tabitha Spears of Long Beach, MS, Gregory Allen Vance and his wife Tabitha of Thomasville, Crystal Vance of Thomasville, and Jessica Harris and her husband Raven of High Point; fourteen grandchildren, Tyler, Jamsine, McKenzie, Nicholas, Matthew, Savannah, Cainan, Donovin, Makaela, Marshall, Virginia, Sean, Emily, and Hailey; and one great grandson, Glenn Allen Harris. Also surviving are her sisters, Sandra Taylor and her husband Michael of Archdale, Gwen Allen of Thomasville, Cathy Young and her husband Billy of Trinity, and Nancy Mattas of Thomasville.
A celebration of Billie Jean’s life will be held at 11 am Monday, July 6th at New Heights Baptist Church, 5082 Meadowbrook Drive, Trinity, with Pastor Roger Porter officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
