Carol was born June 8th, 1940, in Guilford County, the daughter of the late James Monroe Byrd and Willie Louise Bowers Byrd. She was a hairdresser and worked in the sewing industry by trade. Carol enjoyed traveling, sewing, photography, lighthouses, growing flowers and taking care of her “baby” Huldah. Carol enjoyed sharing her love for the Lord and praying for people.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joel Wayne Marley Sr., her son, Joel Wayne Marley, Jr., sister Mary Jane Anderson, sister Sharon Todd, brother David Byrd, grandson, Bradley Felts and four great grandchildren.
Surviving are her son Darrin Marley and his wife Mildred; a daughter in law, Kim Marley; three grandchildren, Jason Marley and wife JoBeth, Heather Edwards and husband Ryan and Delta Marley; six great-grandchildren and her "baby dog", Huldah.
A graveside service will be held at 11am on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Floral Garden Park Cemetery, 1730 W English Rd, High Point, NC 27262 with Chaplin Joey Miller, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Randolph County.
