Charles "Chuck" Tipton, aged 81, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 3, 1945, in Greene County, Tennessee, the son of the late Estil and Anna Mae Sams Tipton.
From humble beginnings, Chuck built a successful career as a master carpenter and “Chuck of All Trades”. He took pride in his craftsmanship and the life he provided for his family. Even in retirement, Chuck continued to work with his hands, mastering the trade of lawn care maintenance.
Chuck found joy in the “little things”, with an enthusiasm for laughter, music, golf, cutting a rug, and faithfully serving his Heavenly Father. Affectionately known for his quick wit, generous heart, and unwavering dedication - Chuck possessed a magnetic zest for life.
Above all, he was a devoted husband, a proud and loving father and grandfather, and a cherished brother whose presence will be deeply missed.
In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his sister, Ruby, and two brothers, Donald and John.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Debra Britt Tipton; three daughters, Yvette (Rick), Tonia (Chip), and Brooke (Tres); two brothers, Tommy (Barbara) and Fred (Shirley); two sisters, Mary Ruth and Dorothy; three grandchildren, Caitlyn, Hyder, and Allie; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the Dillon Road Baptist Church Sanctuary, with Reverend Bynum Orr officiating. Interment to follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America.
