

Mrs. Griffin was born in High Point on Dec. 11, 1922 to William Harrison and Pallie Sechrest Cecil. She had been a lifelong resident of High Point and was a homemaker and Secretary for her husband’s business, Griffin Tool Sales. Mrs. Griffin was a member of First Church of Christ, now Laurel Oaks Church of Christ where she taught in Vacation Bible School and was a member of the Ladies Aid Circle. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her family and was know as an excellent cook, especially her cakes. On December 10, 1948 she married Ervin Luther Griffin who preceded her in death on November 5, 2000. Mrs. Griffin was also preceded in death by her brother, Farriell Cecil and her sister, Mabel C. Sorrell.
Surviving are her children; Susan Griffin Fisher of Elizabethtown and Sidney “Sid” Griffin and his wife Wendy of Sophia. Mrs. Griffin has three grandsons, Auburn and Luke Fisher and Eric Mason and four great grandchildren, Cody and Mathew Mason, Taylor Holland and Lauren Fisher; and her "Grand Dog", "Hunter Griffin".
Mrs. Griffin has one sister, Frances C. Garner of Thomasville.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 p.m.in Sechrest Funeral Chapel on E. Lexington Avenue by Reverend Randy Quate and Reverend Brian Donley. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262 or to the American Heart Association,202 Centrepoint Drive, Greensboro, NC.
