

Darrell Wade Bowers, a cherished resident of Trinity, North Carolina, passed away on November 28, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on June 23, 1942, Darrell was known for being a kind-hearted, hard-working, and faithful servant of Jesus whose gentle and compassionate nature touched the lives of many. He was beloved and cherished by all who knew him, and his wise, honest, and humorous demeanor made him an inspirational figure in his community.
Darrell was a high school graduate and served as an MP in the Army, demonstrating his loyalty and selflessness. His career in the military was marked by dedication and devotion, traits that he carried throughout his life.
A widower to Janet Bowers, Darrell was a devoted family man. He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Bowers, and his sisters, Rose Morgan, Shirley Edwards, and Ruth Debusk. He also leaves behind his stepdaughters, Michelle Hogue (Terry) and Debi Bell, along with several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Malta Adams Bowers, three brothers, and five sisters.
In his personal life, Darrell loved worshiping Jesus and meditating every morning on God's word. He was a faithful member of Sophia Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday School teacher, a deacon, and was part of the choir. An avid Carolina Tarheel fan and Atlanta Braves Baseball fan, Darrell also loved gardening, saying that someone had to feed the deer!
Darrell was a peacemaker, a great listener, and always saw the good in people. He was a problem solver, and his generous and loyal spirit left a lasting legacy. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Darrell's life will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Sophia Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Jonathan Burris. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Floral Garden Cemetery of High Point, NC.
