Dorothy Kirkman Marshall

Mrs. Marshall was born in High Point on April 23, 1913to Percy Von and Susie Gurley Kirkman. She was a 1934 graduate of Duke University with an A.B. Degree and taught in the public schools at Dover, Sanford, and High Point. Mrs. Marshall was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and the Adult Fellowship Class of the Sunday School. She was also a member of the Hum and Hoe Garden Club and was talented with her needle work. She was preceded in death by her siblings; Miss Mae Kirkman, Mrs. Nancy Poston, Mr. P. V. Kirkman, Jr. and Mr. Thomas C. Kirkman. Sr.

On December 27, 1939 she married Henry Wade Marshall who also preceded her in death in 1998.

Surviving are two sons; Henry Wade Marshall, Jr. of St. Cloud, FLA; and David K. Marshall of High Point, and two grandchildren Stephen Marshall and Amy Marshall Milliard; and two great grandchildren; Brennan and Kyle Milliard.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursdy at 11:00 am in the sanctuary of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church by the Dr. Rev. Al Ward. The family will recieve friends in the Asbury Room of the church following the service. Inurnment in the church columbarium will be at a later date.
