

Elsie I. Hobbs, 90, passed away peacefully on May 22 at Hospice of Davidson County.
Elsie was born in Guilford County on August 25, 1935, to Clifford and Effie Ingram. She was a devoted homemaker, a faithful member of Hasty Baptist Church, and the loving mother of four children. Elsie especially treasured family vacations to Ocean Drive, South Carolina.
Later in life, she enjoyed traveling across the United States with her husband, James Hobbs. She also developed a love for crafting and was known by family and friends as an excellent cook whose meals brought people together.
Elsie was preceded in death by her son, Wyatt Hedgepeth; daughter, Myra Hedgepeth; brother, Glenn Ingram; and son-in-law, Robert Lovell.
She is survived by her two daughters, Pamela H. Lovell of Thomasville and Shari H. Deitchman and husband Rick Deitchman of Charlotte; two grandchildren, Sally Deitchman of Arlington, Virginia, and Kelly Kearns of Clemmons, North Carolina; and three great-grandchildren, Cooper, Ivy, and Heidi Kearns. She is also survived by her sister, Pat Ingram of Thomasville, and two nieces, Dana Williams of Thomasville and Tricia Odham of Hamstead.
During the final eight years of her life, Elsie resided at Clapp’s Mountain Top Independent Living in Asheboro, where she formed many cherished friendships, including a special bond with David Dunker.
