Fay McKinney

Fay McKinney, 93, went to be with the Lord on July 25, 2014 at Hospice Home in High Point with her family by her side. She was born on October 7, 1920 to Blum Gurney and Julia Almeata Pendry in High Point, where she lived almost all her life. She was married to her lifelong love, William Horace McKinney, for 75 years, and they met as teenagers. Fay was an active member of Green Street Baptist Church for over 45 years and a loyal member of the Helen Bowman Sunday school class.

Her interests included reading, baking, and spending time with her family. She devoted much of her time and energy to caring for others and faithful service to her church family.

Mrs. McKinney is survived by her husband, Horace; 2 daughters, Saundra McKinney Veach and Janice McKinney Draper; 4 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Monday, 07/28, at Green Street Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m., also at Green Street.
