Tuesday, March 17, 2020, Fred Albert Moody, age 95, of High Point, North Carolina fought the good fight and finished his course. He kept the faith and has now received his crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge has given him on this day.

The 7th son of Emma Grady and Joseph G. Moody, he was born January 15, 1925 in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Fred was a holiness gospel minister for 69 years and was lovingly referred to as "Prophet Moody" by his church members. He was a walking Bible, quoting and sharing King James scripture to everyone who was willing or even unwilling to listen.

During the week, Fred was a long-haul truck driver with a handle of "Flame of Fire Preacher Man". He used to say that he had seen it all and that whether he was in the mountains, in a valley, on a bridge, or in the city, he was always with God.

Fred was the daddy of four lovely daughters, 6 precious grandchildren, and 18 adoring great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Rose Moody; daughters Jeannette Harrell (Freddie), Dorcas Perez (Rob), Rachel Moody, and his loyal canine companion Flo.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Foster.

A visitation for Fred will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, March 21, 2020, at Sechrest Funeral Service, 1301 E. Lexington Ave, High Point, North Carolina 27262. A private family service and burial will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2020.

There are not enough words to sum up someone's life or their faith. The following scriptures reflect his life well-lived in obedience to God: 1 Corinthians 9:16 King James Version (KJV) For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! Romans 10:15 King James Version (KJV) And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

When I recall memories of my uncle, Fred; first, comes the idea that this world is God's world. Every time I was in my uncle's presence, I knew he wanted others to be aware of this truth. I always felt challenged to learn more and to go further with my life based on having a right relationship with our creator. Thank you, Fred Moody, for your Christian influence in helping me to reconcile myself with Him with a renewal of promise knowing that I can serve Him justly and move forward with a greater sense of peace in this world. I love you! Mac!

In loving memory of our step-dad Reverend Fred Moody. He was always there to give positive encouraging words of wisdom. He never made us feel like we were just step-children, but made us feel like one of his own. When he would see us he would always call us precious darling. His words of wisdom was always given from the Lord and he taught us how important serving God was. This is what he lived for his homecoming to meet Jesus. He will always be a part of our memory. From the children of the widow Rose Moody, Evangeline, Angeline and Stephen. Our sincere love to the rest of the family.

My memory of Fred Moody will truly be a lasting one. He was God's unique servant, one of the most gifted I have known in the use of God's Word in his preaching. He truly preached the word from his heart where he had hid it away years before. I look forward to seeing Fred again in heaven.

Our Beloved Fred,
Was a FAITHFUL Disciple for Jesus!
A Godly man, living an exemplary life of love,
kindness and forgiveness, sharing his love and knowledge of Gods word to one and all.
WE ARE SO GRATEFUL
God placed him on this earth to be a blessing to us, his Dear Family, his friends and anyone who was touched by his life.
Surely, he will enter the Kingdom of Heaven and God will say to him “Well done my good & faithful servant!”
We loved him beyond words & will always treasure his memory. We grieve our loss yet, we rejoice in his well lived Beautiful Life. We will deeply miss him & hearing him say “God Bless You”. We will hold him tightly in our hearts and there he will remain until that joyous day when Jesus returns and we will meet with him again!

Uncle Fred, you were 16 years old when I was born. You always said I was like your first born because I was the first baby in the family that you bonded with. That bond was never broken..we love still and will for an eternity. You are the last of that generation..now to be with the ones that left us before. All are so missed by the ones left behind.
You were a delightful uncle and a blessing to know here on earth.
The memories are a pleasure to recall.
I will always love you,
Your niece. Patsy
