

Mrs. Gene “Punny” Brown Wasmer, 94, died August 12, 2026. Punny was a resident of High Point, North Carolina. Born February 28, 1932, in Decatur, Alabama, Punny was the daughter of the late Lewis “Pinky” Carlton and Elizabeth Anne Morrow Brown.
She always called Alabama home. Punny met Peter at an “ice-cream social” in Decatur. They married, had three children and relocated many times back and forth across the Atlantic and finally chose High Point to raise their family.
Punny had a flair for design and shared her talent with her business partner and best friend; developing young design talent and helping bring their work to market. She was also gifted as an artist and had a natural green thumb.
In addition to her parents, Punny was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Peter Rudolf Wasmer Sr. and her sister Carlton Brown.
Punny is survived by her son, Peter Rudolf Wasmer Jr. and wife Antonia of Charlotte; two daughters, Bethanna Macomson and husband Michael of Lincolnton and CeCe Biesecker and husband Michael of High Point.
There will be a private family service at St Mary’s chapel on Thursday August 20th in High Point.
