

Dorothy Geraldine (Gerry) Knight Williams went home to be with her Lord on August 2, 2013. She was born on August 20, 1920 to Henry Lake and Maude Viola Charles Knight in Winston-Salem, NC. She married Edward Franklin Williams, Jr. on January 20, 1946 who preceded her in death on their 60th wedding anniversary.
She was a charter member of the Deep River Extension Homemakers Club for over 50 years. She was a member of Deep River Church of Christ in High Point, NC.
She loved to sew, quilt, and make afghans. She had the talent as a seamstress to look at current fashion trends in clothing and was able to duplicate those designs without a pattern.
She loved to travel and experience other cultures. She traveled to Europe on two occasions and went on the last Lee Klinird’s European Tour.
Surviving are her daughter Ellen Williams of High Point, cousins Loretta Walker, Norman and Jimmy Moore all of Winston-Salem and Bill Knotts of Templeville, Maryland.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 9, 2013 at Sechrest Funeral Service located at 1301 E. Lexington Ave, High Point, NC from 11:00am to 1:00pm. A graveside service will follow at 2:00pm at Deep River Friends Meeting 5300 W. Wendover Ave. High Point, NC.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Capital Campaign Fund, Deep River Church of Christ 1214 Eastchester Ave. High Point, NC.
