Gladys Hall Hayworth

Gladys was born on December 14, 1932 in High Point, NC, the daughter of Hector Hall and Lucy Haire Hall. She attended High Point High School and Women's College in Greensboro, NC. She graduated from the Duke University School of Nursing in 1955. She worked for many years with the Guilford County Health Department until her retirement in 1998.

On December 20, 1953, Gladys married her high school sweetheart and lifelong love, John D. Hayworth. Gladys was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life.

She is survived by her husband John D. Hayworth; children John David Hayworth, Jr and wife Mary of Scottsdale, AZ and Boca Raton, FL; Ginny Hoover and husband Chip of Concord, NC; Phillip Hayworth of Lexington, NC; and grandchildren, Trey Hoover, Meredith Hoover, Nicole Hayworth Beale and husband Brett, Hannah Hayworth, John Micah Hayworth; and brother Robert L. Hall and wife Susie of Cary, NC.

A memorial service to celebrate Gladys’ life will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 11:00 am at Emerywood Baptist Church with Dr. Lamar King officiating. The family will receive friends at Sechrest Funeral Service on Thursday evening from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m, and again on Friday beginning at 10:00 on the morning of the service at The Gathering Place at Emerywood Baptist Church.
