Mrs. Kearns was my patient for 23 years. Not only did she come to get her teeth cleaned, she also came for a visit with a friend. I looked forward to our visits and I knew that when she was coming in to see me, I would have a good day. She always seemed to put things in perspective, simply by being her humble and grateful self. She brought sunshine to  some dark days that’s for sure. Mostly we’d talk about flowers or growing vegetables and country living. Some times we’d talk about serious things and I’d cry or she’d tear up. But mostly, we just laughed and smiled, caught up on the goings on of life, and reminisced of days past. She made me feel like family and that the comfortable feeling of home and all the good things that come from a sense of home, are just a conversation away with a good buddy. My life is better having known her and I’ll never forget her sincere warmth and kindness.  She is a precious jewel and I look forward to the day when we will see one another again and to many more nice long visits. I’ll miss you until then.

I love the summer visits with you and all the fun things we were able to do there.  I hope you have reunited with my mama and are looking down on us from heaven.  Heaven earned another sweet angel. Love you❤️

Carey, Mark, Susie ,and boys -I just want you to know how much I loved your mom. Never had a frown. Always carried a smile from the time I was a little boy , I've been able to know her until she went to be with the angels. She was a awesome and wonderful person treated me as as if I were her own son (as well as the other boys in the neighborhood growing up). She was loving kind and caring. All of us boys would do something to make her laugh - especially Keith, think he would make her laugh so hard, she was about cry! I always knew and felt her love every time that I was able to go see her or speak to her or sit down and talk as she aged. She never forgot anyone or anything and she always thank God for everything that she ever had in her life. There's a place in my heart that is there with her name on it. It will be there through my life and my children's because they know what kind of a woman and loving mother, grandmother and friend Hester was. I will miss her but I will see her at the gates of Heaven one day, and we'll catch up on old times and start laughing again. With a sad and heart she will be deeply missed by this neighborhood. But - her legacy will live on in those who have had the privilege of knowing her. Brian Sapp

Mark, Carey and family,   I am so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing.  She was one of, if not the last from the ones who “lived on the hill”.  I always remembered her when I visit my dad and have such special memories of her with Sparky, Bootsie and Papa! I think Hester  was the hardest working woman, person, for that matter, I’ve ever known!  I know how much you two sons loved her and how well you cared for her.  May the Lord of all comfort give you His peace.

Hester was such a wonderful woman! My earliest memories of her began with her push-mowing the lawn across the street. She never failed to wave at us as we walked to our grandparent's house or played in the yard...We would call out "Hey, Hester!" And always get a big smile and wave from her! She always came to our birthday parties where we enjoyed seeing her every time. We'll miss you, Hester.  We'll see you again someday and get to holler at you from across the heavenly meadows. I send my deepest sympathy to the Kearns family.

In the 7 short years I knew Nannie Kearns she always blew me away! I remember coming out to the house one day with Chris and she would be on her ride on mower at 97 years old. She loved to helped watch after our small garden we planted.  She was truly an amazing woman and I was so blessed to know her! Heaven gained a true angel!

Hester was a beautiful soul who was loved by so many. She left an imprint on my life and childhood by being such a sweet woman. We will miss you Hester.

Her presence was a beacon of unwavering positivity, and her infectious smile illuminated even the darkest days. Hester possessed a rare gift: the ability to uplift everyone she encountered, leaving behind trails of warmth and kindness. She was a precious gem, whose brilliance will adorn memories of my childhood.  Though sorrow clouds my heart at her departure, there is solace in knowing she now resides in the embrace of our Lord and Savior.
