Hilda Eloise Byerly

Hilda was born in High Point, June 23, 1918, a daughter of the late David Lee Barbee and Lillian Hicks Barbee. She was a graduate of High Point College, class of 1961, with a degree in education. Hilda taught elementary school in High Point for 22 years. She was a birthright member of High Point Friends Meeting and played piano for the Brotherhood class for 76 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Byerly and a sister, Evelyn Louise Barbee.

Surviving are a son, Charles Byerly and his wife Carolyn; three grandchildren, Darren Byerly, Kristin Robson and her husband Rob and Andria Key and her husband Vinny Gasper; one great-grandchild, Vincent Gasper.

Graveside service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Springfield Friends Cemetery by Pastor Terry Venable. Memorials may be directed to High Point Friends Meeting. Online condolences may be made davisfuneralsandcremations.com.
