James Rudolph "Catfish" Strickland

James Rudolph "Catfish" Strickland, 76, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021 following a brief illness.

Rudolph was born in Robeson County, March 21, 1944, a son of the late Harris and Edith Hunt Strickland. He was a retired truck driver with UNIFI, out of Madison, after 30 plus years of service. Rudolph enjoyed yard work and NASCAR. He was proud to be the oldest of eight siblings and was an active member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, Walnut Cove. Rudolph was preceded in death by his son, James "Junior" Rudolph Strickland, Jr.; three brothers, Allen Strickland, Larry Strickland and Gerald "Cowboy" Strickland; son in law, Randy Lyles and a sister in law, Wanda Strickland.

Surviving are Bessie Strickland; a daughter, Dianne Strickland Lyles; a son, Russell Strickland and his wife Karen; six grandchildren, Angela Strickland, Mason Lyles, Jordan Lyles, Adam Lanier, Amber Strickland and Tayler Lyles; four siblings, Harris "Buddy" Strickland, Jr. and his wife Alice, Braxton Strickland and wife Carolyn, Ricky Strickland and Hal Strickland and wife Rose; a sister in law, Bonnie Strickland; nieces and nephews, Deana, Jason, Desiree, Michelle, Renee, Richard, Christopher and Renee and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Rockingham County, 2150 NC 65, Reidsville, NC 27320.
