He was also preceded in death by his wife Nancy Clapp Davis of High Point and a brother Jon Davis.
Survivors are one sister, Rogena and husband Robert Hilliard of Murrells Inlet, SC, brothers Darrell Davis of Evans, GA and Ray Davis and David Wilhoit of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Joe graduated from High Point High School in 1961. He also graduated from Women’s College in Greensboro with a master’s degree in psychology. He served in the US Army and was with the High Point Fire Department for several years.
