Joe Barr Mashburn, 67, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2020 at the WFBH High Point Medical Center following a brief illness.

Joe was born in Bryson City, NC, February 4, 1952, a son of the late Eckel Henry Mashburn and Nora Gertrude Lackey Mashburn. He was a retired truck driver. Joe enjoyed fishing, NASCAR and camping. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Riley "J.R." Mashburn and three sisters, Annette Mashburn Blakley, Louise Mashburn Franks and Eloise D. Mashburn.

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Vickie Maynard Mashburn; a son, Billy Joe Mashburn and wife Vicky; a daughter, Joyce Ann Mashburn Barnhill and husband Ricky; grandchildren, Nora, Alicia, Adam, Tristan, Regina, Rocky, Donald, Chayse, Destenee and Dana; great-grandchildren, Luka, Kendra, Gabriel, Mason, Rocky, Jr. and Allison; four sisters, Lillian Shelley, Elizabeth Casper, Annie Belle Clary and Teresa Hilton; two brothers, Manuel and Sammy Mashburn.

A Celebration of Joe's life will be held on what would have been his 68 birthday, Tuesday, February 4, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. in the Davis Funeral Home Chapel, 976 Phillips Ave., High Point, NC 27262 by Rev. Dean Maynard. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
