Joel Wayne Marley

Wayne was born February 28, 1939 in Guilford County, a son of the late Robert Glenn Marley and Lucy Belle Taylor Marley. He was a machinist by trade, having worked at both Gilbarco and Ingersoll Pump until his retirement. Wayne was an avid golfer, enjoyed fishing and was an accomplished woodworker, specializing in lighthouses. He especially loved to mow and look after his yard. Wayne enjoyed sharing his love for the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his son, Joel Wayne Marley, Jr.; a brother, Ronnie Marley, a grandson, Bradley Felts and golfing buddy/best friend, Jake Smith.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Carol Byrd Marley; a son, Darrin Marley and his wife Mildred; a daughter in law, Kim Marley; three grandchildren, Jason Marley and wife JoBeth, Heather Edwards and husband Ryan and Delta Marley; six great-grandchildren and his "baby dog", Hulda.

Graveside service will be held Friday, May 12, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Floral Garden Park Cemetery by Pastor Zeke Davis. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Randolph County.
