John David Harmon, 76, passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021.
John was born in High Point, December 30, 1944, a son of the late Paul and Cordelia Cooper Harmon. He retired from Davis Furniture after many years of service. John was a long time faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. He enjoyed amateur radio and was a Washington Redskins fan, an Atlanta Braves fan and a UNC TarHeel fan. John loved his family, especially his grandsons. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Duncan Harmon; two sisters, Rachel Todd and Shirley Dickens and two brothers, Gene and Dexter Harmon.
Surviving are a son, Sam Harmon and his wife Denise; two grandsons, Brandon Sizemore and Richard Harmon and his wife Alexis; a sister, Francis Young and her husband Von and a brother, Jerry Harmon; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of John's life will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church by Pastor Casey Bradford. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the service. Memorials may be directed to Tabernacle Baptist Church.
