Ken was born in the Deutschburg Community near Palacios, TX on January 23, 1933 to the late Alvin and Rubye Rampmeier. The first in his family to go to college, he earned his degree at Texas A& I at Kingsville, followed by service in the US Army and then worked for 29 years for Union Carbide. After moving to High Point, Ken worked for 5 years for Femco. During retirement, his love of golf led him to work at Blair Park Golf course for many years. Ken was a loving husband, father and Paw Paw.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carolyn; brother Al of Bryan, TX; two sisters, Norma and Janice of Palacios, TX; son Keith of San Diego, CA; daughter Cara Dudley and husband David of Charlotte, NC, and grandchildren Christopher, Victoria, Kathryn and Matthew John Dudley.
A memorial mass will be held at 11am on Thursday April 7th at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic church. Visitors will be received starting at 10am before the mass.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 4145 Johnson St., High Point NC 27265 and the Hospice Home at High Point, 1801 Westchester Dr, High Point NC 27262.
