A lovely and kind man to my mother's family .He sent mother a Christmas card every year since his stay in Dawley, Shropshire since WW2. God Bless.

I'm Gareth Goodwin, based in Telford , Shropshire, England.My mother during the WW11, lived in Dawley , Shropshire.Her father was a Baptist Minister there. John ,and John Gerlitz were Bilited at Malinslee Hall on route to Dover for the D Day landings ,part of "The Old Hickory " Regiment.They would visit my mother and family every week as they waited to be sent to embark. Mother would give them eggs from her chickens. Every Christmas since then, John would send mother a Christmas card without fail .in later years ,after Mom had passed away ,John kept in touch with me .



My mother's dear friend. First met during WW11 in Dawley Shropshire , England. He sent her a Christmas card every year since then.A dear. Gentlemen.
