Born in Danville, Virginia on September 28, 1939, she was the cherished daughter of the late C. Michael and Argie Stinson Burrows. Juanita grew up in High Point before moving to Sophia when she married in 1964.
Juanita earned her RN degree from Bowman Gray, affiliated with the Wake Forest University School of Medicine, and embarked on a long career as a Registered Nurse. After having her four sons, she decided to go to work for the Randolph County School System.
Juanita was of the Baptist faith and loved spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John E. Nelson.
Juanita is survived by her four sons, Michael Nelson, John Nelson, Richard Nelson, Kevin (Angie) Nelson; and grandson, Derek Nelson.
A Celebration of Juanita's life will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at 8 p.m. in the Sechrest-Davis Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Robert Hyatt. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 7 until 8 p.m. Burial will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Floral Garden Park Cemetery.
