Koweta was born in High Point, September 22, 1944, a daughter of the late Elmer Coles Allgood and Hallie Thomas Allgood. She graduated from High Point Central High School and attended East Carolina University. Koweta was accomplished in the business world serving as Customer Service Supervisor, Marketing Sales Representative, Human Resources Manager, earning certification of International Facilitator, among other certifications. She was last employed at W. Calvin Reynolds & Associates. Koweta attended Impact Church in Thomasville.
Koweta was married to William Banks Staley, Sr., who preceded her in death as well as her son, William Banks Staley, Jr. and a brother in law, Charles Staley.
Surviving are a son, Michael Staley and his wife Ruth; a grandson, Preston Staley; sister, June McDowell-Davis and husband Dwight; a brother, Bill Allgood and his wife Gloria; a brother in law, Wade Staley and his wife Libby; sister in laws, Ann Staley, Florence Hall, and Edith Slate; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Koweta's life will be held Monday 11 a.m. in the Davis Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. Online condolences may be made at davisfuneralsandcremations.com.
