

Larry was born in High Point, July 13, 1946 a son of George Joe Duggins and Ruth Elizabeth Wright Duggins. He graduated from Trinity High School and received his B.A. from UNC Chapel Hill, where he also received his ROTC training. Larry then went to Quantico, VA for Office Training School, receiving the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. Larry then served his country as a Marine during Vietnam, attaining the rank of First Lieutenant. He then received his master degree from East Carolina University. Larry was employed by High Point Fibers for many years. He was preceded in death by his father. Larry loved reading and football, especially the Washington Redskins.
Surviving are his mother, Ruth Duggins Swaim; sister, Kay Albertson and husband Bill; niece and football buddy, Angela Elizabeth Albertson and other extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be held Saturday at 12 noon at Davis Funerals and Cremations Chapel by Pastor Ashley Cyre. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 11 a.m. until the service.
