

Miss Hutchins was born in High Point on November 2, 1921 to Ira A. and Ada Blair Hutchins. Blind since birth, she attended the N. C. School for the Blind. She later entered nursing care facilities where she really learned to enjoy her life and she became a marvelously talented lady. Miss Hutchins enjoyed all activities including bingo and especially painting. Her paintings brought her recognition with showings and her work was even purchased and used for cards of all kinds. Miss Hutchins was a member of Hickory Chapel Wesleyan Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Charles Edwin Hutchins and Ira Harold Hutchins.
She is survived by one sister, Rebecca Hutchins Wood of High Point and one brother, Walter Wray Hutchins of Gulf Port, Mississippi. Miss Hutchins has four nieces, two nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in Sechrest Funeral Chapel on E. Lexington Avenue with the Reverend James Capps and Reverend Kim Fowler officiating. Burial will follow the service in Hickory Chapel Wesleyan Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 until 3:30pm prior to the service.
