Linda was born July 24, 1949 in Wilson, NC; the daughter of the late Joyce Fay Farmer and Jesse Junior Horne.
Linda attended Winstead School and Fike High School in Wilson, NC. She studied English Literature/Secondary Education at Atlantic Christian College in Wilson. She married her husband Al in 1974 and they moved to High Point, NC in 1977. In 1983, Linda and Al moved to Jamestown where they raised their three children, Daniel, Joel and Katherine. Linda was a devoted and supportive mother, always present during her children's sports events, dance recitals, and extracurricular activities. Her love and encouragement were constant sources of strength for her family.
Linda was a high school english teacher for over 24 years and taught at Southeast Guilford and Ragsdale High Schools. Linda was a passionate, fun teacher who loved her students. She led Teacher Cadets, inspiring many students to become teachers. Throughout her career, she sponsored the school newspaper, Boosterettes, Key Club, and the Literary Magazine. After retiring in 2006, Linda started a book club with her friends in Jamestown that is still active. She also volunteered for many years at the Jamestown Public Library making gift baskets for fundraising.
Preceded in death are her husband of 48 years, Al Munns and her dear friend, Melinda Hamrick.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter; Katherine Sims (Eric), her twin sons; Daniel Munns (Mary) and Joel Munns (Nicole); one brother; Kenny Horne (Shirley) nine grandchildren whom she cherished; Kaitlin, Riley Grace, Ryan, Elijah, Parker, Olivia, Bennett, Mica and Jude, her two nieces; Ashley Davis (Mark) and Michelle Horne; a great-nephew, Landon and her beloved cat Maddie.
A Celebration of Linda's life will be held at a later date.
