Lois Wise Harris, 94, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, at Westchester Harbour in High Point, NC due to complications from Dementia and a Stroke. She was born on December 9, 1930, to Marvin L. Wise and Jennie Hoke Wise. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Marion A. Harris, who died in 1979, her sister, Evelyn W. Ridenhour and brother, Lawrence L. Wise.
Mrs. Harris attended High Point City schools, graduating from High Point High School (Central). After graduating from Lenoir Rhyne College, she began a 42-year career with Wachovia Bank. Upon retirement she volunteered at High Point Regional Hospital, Mobile Meals of High Point, Roy Culler Senior center, where she led exercise and line dancing until age 85, and numerous other organizations. She was on the board of Mobile Meals, Women's Club of High Point and Church Women United.
Lois was an amazing daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend who always put others above herself. She was an excellent seamstress, baker and cook who loved sharing her talents with others. Lois always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone she encountered.
Lois was a lifelong member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in High Point where she served as Council member, President of the Women's organization, Sunday school treasurer, Mobile Meals Day Chairman, head of the Alter Guild and was on every committee that the Church had to offer. lf there was a need, she was always ready and willing to serve.
Lois is survived by her daughters, Janis H. Flynn, husband Bob, of Bel Air, Maryland, Carol H. Womble, husband Brad, of Archdale, NC and son, Jim M. Harris, wife Barbara, of Mooresville, NC. Seven grandchildren, Rob Flynn, Kelley Cianci (Dan), Eric Harris (Casey), Brittany Harris, Blake Harris (Kelsey), Wilson Womble (Megan) and Davis Womble (Walker). Lois is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren, Tyler, Arden, Kassidy, Bella, Jack, G, Harper, Mason, Logan, Henry, Emery and Harris.
The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Westchester Harbour for all their love, support and great care that has been given to our mother over the last four years. They would also like to thank everyone at Hospice of the Piedmont for their guidance and support during the last eleven days of their mother’s life.
A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Harris will be held on Friday July 25, 2025, at 11 a.m. in the Sechrest-Davis Funeral Home Chapel by Roland Cavanaugh, located at 976 Phillips Ave, High Point, NC. Visitation will follow immediately after the service.There will be a private committal service at Floral Garden. ln lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Dr., High Point, NC 27262.
