

High Point, NC Lois McGaha Wyatt, 59, entered the gates of heaven on October 11, 2017. She was the daughter of Arthur (Gene) and Jenny McGaha of Brevard and great-great granddaughter of Rev. A. F. English who established English Chapel. A 1976 graduate of Brevard High School, she graduated with honors in the associate degree program in nursing from Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College. A registered nurse, Lois worked at Mission Hospital, Transylvania Community Hospital, other health care facilities, and home care agencies and was currently employed by Thrive Pediatric Care. She cared for as many as forty foster children, adopting two. She fostered a handicapped child and was his guardian until his death at age 24 in December 2016. She was preceded in death by sons, Eric Hudson and Cody Lail; grandparents, Arthur and Beatrice McGaha and August and Mary Erickson. Surviving are her husband, Herman Wyatt; daughters, Emily Hudson and Lindsey Lail; a son, Zachary Bracken; brothers, Mark (Connie) and Dean (Jennifer); perents, Gene and Jenny McGaha; granddaughter, Danika Hudson and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory in Pisgah Forest, NC on October 18, 2017 with pastors Chris Thore and Daniel McGaha officiating. Davis Funeral Home served the family in High Point.
