

Mrs. DeWitt was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on February 27, 1925 a daughter to Louis Edward and Katharine Burns McDonald. She graduated from George Mason University and was employed with the Signal Corp during World War II and later with Control Data Corporation. Following her marriage and the growth of her family, she devoted herself to home and family as a homemaker. Mrs. DeWitt was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in High Point, but attended Mass at her residence Chapel at Maryfield. Margaret was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and David McDonald and by her husband Henry Arthur DeWitt on January 26, 2001.
Surviving are her children; Kathleen Sawyer of Woodstock, Ga., Barbara Phelps of Marietta, Ga., Kevin Dewitt of Cary, NC, and Jim DeWitt of Black Mountain, NC, and David DeWitt of Fredericksburg, Va. Mrs. Dewitt has nine grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Feb. 17th at 10:00 am in the Chapel of Pennybyrn at Maryfield by Father Jim Solari.
The family will receive friends at Maryfield following the Mass. Inurnment will be in Oakwood Memorial Park Mausoleum at 1:00 p.m. Monday.
