Mary Melva Tiley Webb

Mrs. Melva Tiley Webb, 86, of Lumsden Lane died April 23, 2012 at High Point Hospice Home, following a lengthy illness. A funeral Mass will be held at 3:00pm on Wednesday April 25, 2012 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church on the corner of Johnson St. and Skeet Club Road by Father Joseph Zuschmidt O.S.F.S. Burial will follow in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be in the Gathering Area of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church one hour prior to the service. Sechrest Funeral Home is serving the family of Mrs. Webb. She was born on May 15, 1925 in High Point, N.C. a daughter of William Hughes and Melva Thomas Price. She was the granddaughter of Perley A. and Margaret Milne Thomas. Mrs. Webb graduated from Marywood College in Scranton, PA and taught elementary school for many years in Fairfax, VA where she was active in the Fairfax and National Education Associations. She had been a member of the High Point Needlecrafters Guild, the High Point Museum, and an advisory board member of Maryfield Nursing Home. She enjoyed spending time at Holden Beach, N.C. where she had a home for many years. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband William E. Tiley, her husband Wesley O. Webb, her sisters Margaret Farrell, Dorothy Webb, Anne Price, and her brother Bill Price. She is survived by her brother Joseph Price. Survivors include her children W. Edward Tiley of Apalachicola, FL, Raymond (Marianne) Tiley of Oakhurst, NJ, Teresa (Tom) Hughes of Warrenton, VA . Her grandchildren include Wil Tiley, Cory Tiley, Amara (John) Boldridge, Laurel Marlene Tiley, Ray (Anna) Tiley, Danielle (Daniel Tana) Tiley, Meg Tiley. Her two great , grandchildren are Brooke and John Henry Boldridge. Mrs. Webb is also survived by her stepchildren Jane (Larry) Edwards, Janice (Robert) Ayers, Dottie (James) Keever, Fran (Lathe) White, Jackie (Calvin) Lewis, Jim (Marge) Webb, Mary (Doug) Marsteller and 20 step grandchildren and 10 step great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be directed to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Pennybyrn at Maryfield, or Hospice of the Piedmont .

Rest in peace Melva. I miss her. I enjoyed getting to know Melva the past four years while she received rehab at Pennybyrn different times. She was a nice woman to talk to. Until we meet again, look down on all of us here on Earth.....God bless the family also, Teresa and Tom, etc.
