Mrs. Shacklett was born March 5, 1925 in Osceola, Iowa a daughter of the late Clarence and Agnes Marie Flynn McCann. She was a homemaker, a member of H.I.S. Family Church, which is now Victorious Life Church, as well as Spirit of Life Ministries..
Mary Shacklett was the essence of beauty and vitality and had a sweet passion for Jesus. She loved life and people, and her sincerity and enthusiasm made a bold statement everywhere she went. When she met Jesus, he changed her life and healed her, and she was never the same. As a result, mom embraced strangers as friends and thrived on sharing that love for them. If you needed prayer, ask mom. She would stop whatever she was doing in any situation. And if you wanted to see someone enjoying life and moving to the music, look for mom and her dancing feet. She loved to dance; it was her trademark. Mom approached life with pure simplicity and didn’t worry or stress. She simply prayed and let Jesus take care of her. What a powerful role model of inspiration for all of us.
She is survived by one son; Stan Shacklett of Greensboro, three daughters; Lilli Shacklett, Carol Johnson, and Rose Bowman all of High Point, two grandchildren Landon and Faith Johnson, a sister in law; Wilda McCann, and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be 11:00 a. m. on Monday, September 6, 2010 at the Sechrest Funeral Service Chapel, 1301 E. Lexington Ave., High Point, NC. The family will receive friends 7 to 9:30 p. m. at the funeral home on Sunday.
