

Mary Joanne Wood, age 80, of High Point, North Carolina, died peacefully on Monday morning, October 31st at Brookdale High Point on Hartley Avenue. Mary Jo was an outgoing mother of two who loved woodcarving, the mountains, Appalachian culture, her family, and Jesus. One of her favorite things to do as a young mother was to take her two boys camping in the Smokies. Throughout her professional life she worked in the furniture industry in various capacities. In her later years she enjoyed her loving and caring friends from Community Bible Church, where she was a member.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Donaldson Wood, mother, Joanne Hanger Wood, of High Point, and her youngest son, Patrick Raymond Campbell. She is survived by her Uncle Dutch and Aunt Beppy of Pennsylvania; cousins Rob Vanschooneveld of Pennsylvania, and Gary Van Schooneveld of Minnesota, and her son Donaldson Ryan Wood, his wife, Shannon, and their two children, Ryan and Kellan Wood, all of Boone, North Carolina.
There will be a service to remember her earthly life and celebrate her eternal life with Jesus at The Life Center at Community Bible Church, 4124 Johnson Street in High Point on Tuesday, November 8th at 11:30 am. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Bible Church, 4125 Johnson Street, High Point, NC 27265.
